ADOPTING AGILE

In my last three roles, we implemented Agile in very different ways, and what I’ve learned is that Agile can be tailored to suit various team dynamics, cultures, and workflows. This experience has made me responsible for:

  • Leading Agile events that contributed to culture building

  • Designing and facilitating mentorship sessions and workshops

  • Customizing onboarding and training materials for diverse audiences

  • Creating and managing Kanban and Scrum boards to support delivery

SUITING AGILE TO DIFFERENT TEAMS

FRAME 3 STUDIO > SCRUM

  • Focus on incremental develpment

  • Creation of User Stories, aceptance criteria, sprint planning, backlog & scrum boards.

  • Remote dailies, sprints reviews & sprint demos to follow up incremental development.

  • Tools: Trello - Discord - Google Drive

TITAN MEDIA WORX > KANBAN

  • Focus on continuous releases

  • Process to define WIP limits, set and meet deadlines, QC and approvals.

  • Tools: Excell - Monday - Google drive - Teams

DELOITTE > KANBAN

  • Focus on building a collaborative culture and empowering the team

  • Lead retrospectives and collaborative activities.

  • Prioritize collaboration over negotiation.

  • Provide immediate and continuous feedback.

  • Tools:  Workfront - Microsoft 365 - Copilot

Fostering Agile Collaboration Through Mindset Shifts

One of the key strategies we applied was shifting the team’s mindset from negotiation to collaboration.

Negotiation often implies a transactional exchange, where individuals simply complete the tasks assigned to them. Collaboration, on the other hand, invites us to solve problems collectively and meet evolving needs by leveraging each person’s unique talents and knowledge.

This mindset shift made it easier to adapt to changing plans. At Deloitte, this was especially valuable; we faced new requirements, updated guidelines, and revised agreements nearly every month. Rather than becoming exhausted by constant change, the team grew comfortable with iteration and evolved into a highly self-organized unit.
