THE PROCESS AS CREATIVE AR DIRECTOR & INTERACTIVE DESIGNER
THE BRIEF
The need starts from taking the astonishment in a virtual magic show to another level. Therefore, the exploration is based on how to implement augmented reality in a magic show so it can enhance amazement. So we analized how to implement augmented reality in different parts of the show script.
The client had specifications like:

Appear one card infront of the spectator eyes

Reveal and elevate the card the spectator is thinking from a group of cards

Anchor a secret message in the packaging.
The challenge was find out how to acomplish this requirements in a visual fluid way.
RESOLUTION
1. The first contact: The spectator would received a box with a QR code with a message of: "Important message for you", and it is placed to incite curiosity. The viewer has no idea what they will find when they scan the QR code, but when they do, they are surprised by the unexpectedness of the inserted message in Augmented Reality.
2. Interactivity: During the virtual Magic show, among the first acts and with the guide of the magician, the spectator will use their phones to point to the screen. The viewer has no idea that the card they are thinking is going to leave the screen and turn over, so when they live the experience, the astonishment is explosive.
MEMORABLE
The show was already impressive on its own, but the added value of Augmented Reality turns it into a memorable experience, which exceeds any expectations the audience could think. Even exceeds our own expectations as creatives. We really loved this process!
